What is "lively" photography?
The name “lively” comes from a passion for photographing dogs in action. My style involves capturing dog emotions in their purest form – such as excitement in playing – which comes out best naturally rather than choreographed. It is one of the most challenging types of photography — I don’t get to control the angle, lighting, or speed and I have only 1 shot to catch the photo — but it’s certainly one of the most rewarding!
What is your photography style?
In one word: Natural. I prioritize an organic look to the photos, and this is gained by letting the dog play freely rather than posing when possible. That way, when you look at the photos, they are true representations of your pet’s feelings. This also means that, as much as possible, the backdrops are natural and meant to look realistic versus artificial. My photography style is to capture their sincere and authentic joy of the moment.

Professional Digital Enhancement
Every image included in your photography session will be digitally enhanced to ensure vivid colours, perfectly contrasted shadows and highlights, and crisp sharpness. Sometimes it is also necessary to remove distractions from the photo, such as unwanted spots, or objects covering key portions of the photo such as the eye. Below you will see an example of moving a water droplet away from the eye area to preserve a gorgeous, splashing photo.
Enhancements also ensure that your final product, whether it be your photo album your or custom framed canvas, will have the perfect exposure which perfectly accents your pet. This process can take anywhere between 30 minutes to over an hour per photo as it can involve adjustments to the foreground, midground, and background, but it is very well worth it to ensure that the star of the show is highlighted - your furry family member!
